Prince Kung's Palace Museum held its annual volunteer meeting at the museum's research and education base at the start of this year, with both experienced and new voluntary workers in attendance.
Deputy Director Lu Wenjie praised veteran volunteers' dedication, warmly welcomed the newcomers and said he had high hopes for the future of the voluntary service.
Winners of outstanding volunteer and special contribution awards spoke during a special ceremony. Zhang Junrong, a veteran volunteer with 16 years of service, expressed gratitude for the guidance of the museum's experts, while Zhang Li shared her experience of supporting students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan during their summer internships.
New volunteers received their official appointment letters from Deputy Director Lu, marking their formal induction into the museum's volunteer family.
The event concluded with a solemn group oath, symbolizing the volunteers' commitment to carrying forward the spirit of dedication, compassion, mutual assistance and progress.
Established in August 2008, the museum's volunteer team includes people from diverse backgrounds — with the youngest just 6 years old and the oldest 80. Over the years, more than 1,000 volunteers have provided services for over one million visitors. These devoted individuals not only contribute to the museum's operations but also play a vital role in spreading Chinese culture.
