The Duofu Belvedere was designed for receiving guests. Prince Kung Yixin used it to meet court officials and foreign envoys. The "Duofu Belvedere" name plaque above the door, inscribed by Emperor Xianfeng (r.1851-1861), reflects the imperial patronage of the prince. Inside, the hall is decorated with various auspicious symbols, including a plaque inscribed with "Tongde Yanao" and its couplets by Empress Dowager Cixi, and numerous "Fu" and "Shou" plaques.
A distinctive feature of the belvedere is the ancient wisteria trellis in the southern courtyard. The two vines, over 200 years old, create a serene atmosphere and have given the courtyard its name, "Tengluo Courtyard" (Courtyard of Wisteria Vines).
