Ledao Hall, the personal living quarters of Prince Kung Yixin, holds significant historical value. The plaque above the door, a personal gift from Emperor Daoguang (r.1821-1850), reflects the close relationship between the two. Yixin's association with this place is so profound that he adopted the title "Master of Ledao Hall" and even named his literary works after it.
Before becoming the residence of Prince Kung, this hall served as a royal residence, housing the couple of Fengshen Yinde, Heshen's son, and Princess Hexiao. The polychrome paintings decorating the beams and lintels featuring images of phoenix are a testament to this earlier period.
