Bamboo Courtyard

Just north of the Cultivated Vegetable Garden, across the street, lies an elegant and secluded courtyard. The Grand Theatre, one of the three treasures of Prince Kung's Palace, is situated at the center of this courtyard. Passing through the ornate gate, one enters the first courtyard, known as the Bamboo Courtyard. To the east of the courtyard is a refined residence called "Fragrant Snow Lodge", where Prince Kung's primary and secondary consorts would rest while enjoying the garden and theater performances. It is said that the primary consort was particularly fond of swaying bamboos, hence the bamboo groves planted at each corner of the courtyard.
