Updated: Jul 24, 2024

Located on the historic site of Prince Kung's Palace, Prince Kung's Palace Museum is dedicated to the research, preservation and promotion of Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) princely residence culture. As the museum's mission is to serve the neighborhood, it prioritizes security and collection safety, academic development, digital technology application, and public education.

Designated as China's Foremost Protected Cultural Heritage Site in 1982, it was upgraded to a national 5A Tourist Attraction in 2012 and was rated as a National First-Class Museum in 2017.

The museum's core responsibilities encompass preserving the palace complex – comprising its residence, garden and auxiliary structures – collecting, researching and exhibiting Qing Dynasty treasures. It also actively fosters cultural exchanges, explores intangible cultural heritage presentations, develops public education programs, and integrates culture and tourism.
