The pavement (yong lu) in traditional Chinese buildings refers to the main road between buildings in a courtyard complex. There are different varieties of pavement, such as pavements made of stone, brick, and pavements with decorative brick-carved surfaces. The pavement located in the central route of Prince Kung's Mansion, as shown in the picture, is an example of a stone pavement.
