Baosha, a projecting section of the main structure of a traditional-style building, is connected to the main building and forms a convex shape from an aerial view. It is often referred to as the "turtle head house".

This architectural technique enriches both the spatial layout and exterior aesthetics. It was commonly found in Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1279) dynasty architecture and remained popular throughout the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1644).
