Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)

Dimensions: 69 cm*53.5 cm*101.5 cm

The chair is made entirely of Chinese rosewood. Its outline is simple, flowing and graceful. With both a wonderful form and spirit, it is a typical piece of Ming dynasty furniture. It was first collected by the German scholar Gustav Ecke and was included in his book Chinese Domestic Furniture in Photographs and Measured Drawings published in 1944. In 2006, the chair was donated to Prince Kung's Palace Museum by his wife Zeng Youhe (also known as Betty Ecke).
