Located on the west route of the Mansion, Baoguang Hall was built in He Shen’s period. Inside the main hall, there are precious colorful paintings existing more than 100 years which are safely protected, and some Qing Dynasty’s inner-decorated screens. Prince Kung’s Mansion Management Center uses Baoguang Hall’s main hall and east side room to hold the “Prince Kung’s Mansion Historical Evolution and Museum Achievement Exhibition”, to arouse people’s recognition of protecting cultural relics and strengthen their realization to the historical responsibility.

 

Through “historical evolution of the Prince Kung’s Mansion”, “Development of the Prince Kung’s Mansion” and “a memoir to Mansion relics’ protection and renovation” three parts, the exhibition comprehensively introduces features and historical developing clue of the Prince Kung’s Mansion. “Historical Evolution” part sets “one Prince Kung’s Mansion, half of the Qing Dynasty’s history” as the main theme, introduces the Mansion’s history varied from He Shen period, Princess He Xiao period, Prince Ching period, Prince Kung period, Fu Jen University period and period after new China was born. “Development” part uses a large number of photos and other precious historical documents to reflect that Prince Kung’s Mansion passes through a process of 40 years from relocation, renovation, to splendor and fully open to the public, under the caring of national leaders and leadership of heads of the Ministry of Culture of China. “A memoir to Mansion relics’ protection and renovation” part exhibits pictures, texts and images to vividly introduce “Prince Kung’s Mansion imperial palace protection and renovation” process to which the country invested RMB 200 million.

 

The exhibition uses traditional handcraft solid wood exhibition shelf in terms of design, and its old-fashion texture also better emphasizes the strong historical meaning of the Prince Kung’s Mansion. A panoramic view sand table located in the center of the main hall displays a magnificent view of the Mansion after the renovation which can be compared with appearances in Emperor Tong Zhi and Dao Guang’s reign.
