The Palace of Silver Peace is the most important building of Prince Kung's Mansion Situated on a high terrace,it is built with high pillars and heavy beams, with a large structure.The Palace of Silver Peace and wing palaces in the east and west sides form a spacious middle courtyard. There are the First Mansion Gate and the Second Mansion Gate in front of the Palace of Silver Peace,which were opened only on important occasions,such as the presence of emperors, title conferrals, wedding ceremonies, birthday celebrations and funerals of princes.On May 29, 1898,Prince Kung died and his body was temporarily placed in the Palace of Silver Palace.On the second day, Empress Cixi and Emperor Guangxu lead court oflicials to express their condolence here.

 

In the early 20th century, the Palace of Silver Peace was destroved in a fire accident.The current palace was restored based on archcological surveys.The permanent exhibition, "Princely Mansions of the Qing Dynasty", housed in the restored palace.,reviews roval rank conferral systems and life in princely mansions of the Qing Dynasty.
